Chocolate Dipped Strawberries

I used to work in multiple bakeries and one of them went all out with the Valentine’s Day strawberries every year. The problem was, they were dipped in cheap high fructose corn syrup and oil solids with artificial flavorings and chocolate flavor…YUCK (I still found myself eating copious amounts of them though…sigh). Anywho, I made a whole food plant based version made completely with fruit! YASSSSS! Enjoy!

Ingredients

Chocolate Dip
  • 1/2 cup cacao or cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup water or plant milk
  • 1 heaping cup plant pitted medjool dates
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla bean powder

Instructions

  1. Blend everything together to make a thick smooth chocolate dip. You may need to soak the dates ahead of time if you don't have a fast blender, use the tamping stick, and/or consider using a food processor to get everything incorporated. Dip strawberries in the chocolate sauce and enjoy. Freeze or fridge remaining sauce or use on top of nice cream!
