Raw Balls: Brownie

  • I never thought I'd share this recipe

    RAW BALLS, ANYONE? 😊

I used to sell these balls at the Farmers Market and ship them across the country for my friends.

The raw balls that always sparked a conversation strictly from the name themselves were wildly popular and I ended up expanding the flavor offerings over the years until I just could not roll anymore. Twas a sad decision indeed, but necessary after charging over $2/ball for the time it would take to roll these things and still people wouldn't flinch. 😂 I just couldn't do it anymore. But alas, I share with you my treasured recipe for raw brownie balls. They are totally packed with antioxidants from raw cacao and a delicious source of healthy omega fats from walnuts, they are almost too good to be true.

The key is to getting the date paste right. That's what makes this recipe part of my treasure chest because it's hard to duplicate it's exact texture, but I have total faith in you: you can do it.

Here's what you need to do to make these bad boys:

Ingredients

  • Make 13oz (yes it's important to weigh it because dates are all different sizes) of date paste with blended (in food processor) medjool dates and a little water (texture needs to be that of sticky playdough... formable, but not wet)
  • Add:
  • 1 cup walnuts
  • 1 cup raw cacao powder to the date paste in food processor and blend.
  • Add:
  • 1 cup natural almond butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2-1 tsp salt if desired
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup (could sub date syrup or honey if you want)
  • then blend again in processor
  • Fold in:
  • 1 cup of chopped almonds
  • then form into balls (as big as you want 😜) and roll in coconut if you prefer! Freeze for up to 3 months. Eat straight from the freezer, keep stored in fridge, or even on the countertop, these don't go bad for a really long time, honestly. These balls are also amazing blended into smoothies or with hot liquid like oat milk for a decadent drink. 🤤
  • Enjoy my balls. 😂 They've been a long time coming.
